American Innovations’ Integrity
Management Division Awarded
Pemex Refinación Risk,
Integrity, and GIS Software & Services Contract
Littleton, CO – November 21, 2005: American Innovations’ Integrity
Management Division (IMD), leading provider of integrity and risk management
software and engineering services for the pipeline industry, announced
that Pemex Refinación has purchased IMD software – including
the Integrity Management Program (IMP™), Pipeline Database Mapper
(PD Mapper™) and Risk Consequence Analysis Tool (RiskCAT) -- as the
basis for their Integrity Management Program. All three of IMD’s
pipeline integrity management applications will be used for hazardous
liquid pipeline facility analyses throughout the country of Mexico.
Pemex Refinación, the eighth largest oil company in the world,
has roughly 55,000 km of pipelines for transporting crude oil, petroleum
products, natural gas and petrochemicals.
Pemex Refinación made the decision to upgrade
from IMD’s Integrity Assessment Program (IAP™) in order to take
advantage of many flexible features included in the latest IMP software,
including: client-server enterprise topology, pipeline and station
facility data management features, data reference transforming tool,
dynamic segmentation engine, extensive analysis results visualization
tools, and multiple business workflow-based configurations (i.e. risk
assessment, anomaly management, direct assessment).
Pemex Refinación has selected PD Mapper as a
cost effective GIS tool to allow IMP users to quickly visualize any
analysis results or data sets along a pipeline’s centerline displayed
over satellite image base maps. RiskCAT will be used to perform five
different hazardous liquid release consequence analyses, including
direct, indirect, terrain, direct watershed and indirect watershed.
Upon starting the software implementation in Mexico
City, IMD’s Project Manager, Colin Gagne, stated, "Pemex
Refinación continues to be a strategic international oil and
gas partner with American Innovations, so we have dedicated some of
the industry’s best subject matter experts to this large and
diverse project. I look forward to focusing on the development of new
pipeline facility risk models for Pemex Refinación and fostering
a successful long-term relationship.”
