American Innovations Moves Headquarters to New Building

Austin, TX – May 1, 2008: American Innovations (AI), leading provider of practical technology solutions for pipeline industries, moved into its new headquarters on April 9th. AI purchased the building and property in 2007 and made extensive renovations. The 19,000 square foot building will house more than fifty staff including production, testing and shipping facilities for the Field Data Division (FDD) products, AI corporate staff and the headquarters for AI’s parent company HM International. With the move to the new office, AI will accommodate all its Austin activities in full-owned facilities and have room for anticipated growth. The project was completed on time and within the overall budget. The move went smoothly with minimal downtime.

"Our company is growing and evolving," said AI President Rich Smalling. "With this move, we increased our personnel capacity by 50 while reducing our cost. Instead of wasting money on rent, every dollar goes toward a good long term investment. Our employees have a more pleasant work environment and the property we own provides ample room for future expansion.

Suzanne Tappe, Director of Administration and Finance, managed the project and focused on renovating with green building and energy reduction principles in mind. "We installed all new, energy-efficient HVAC units, energy saving lights and used refurbished office furniture," said Tappe. "In addition, AI no longer uses disposable cutlery, plates or cups and we’ve employed a professional service to help us recycle glass, aluminum and paper waste."

Concurrent with the move, AI upgraded its servers and installed a new IP telephone system. The telephone system makes it easier to link headquarters to field based personnel and regional offices and allows calls to be routed more efficiently to a Technical Service Engineer. As a result, AI systems run more efficiently and customers can now get direct assistance more immediately. The upgraded servers provide more capacity for managing traffic on the Bullhorn® remote monitoring system. A new generator provides 24x7 emergency power to the building. The previous servers will be installed at the company’s data center in Denver to provide a disaster recovery option for the Bullhorn remote monitoring system.

In addition to its Austin, TX headquarters, the company maintains offices in Houston, Longview, TX and Littleton, CO.

AI’s new postal address is:

American Innovations
12211 Technology Blvd.
Austin, TX 78727

Telephone numbers and email addresses remain the same.
